Cannons opened its doors to the public in 1972 and has been in continuous operation since that date. It is located on a cliff over looking the Dana Point Harbor, a historic setting chronicled in Richard Henry Dana’s novel “Two Years Before the Mast.” The restaurant was purchased in Feb. of 2004, by John Creed and Steve McGillin, both very successful restaurant executives.
They have provided additional capital and their experience in helping to make Cannons Seafood Grill one of the top restaurants in Orange County. Cannons is a privately owned, full service restaurant, that seeks to provide wonderful food in a contemporary atmosphere, staffed by people dedicated to service.
